OH’s Student Council is hosting the annual Talent Show tonight at 6 p.m. in the Barnes Performing Arts Center. This event highlights an opportunity for students to take center stage and show off their talents in a fun and unique way.

“I think it’s one of the most fun events that makes you think about high school,” said Student Council sponsor Jacob Cafaro. “You can go upstage and show your talents. People are cheering, and it’s just overall a really positive and healthy community event.”

This event provides an opportunity for students to showcase their talents in an encouraging and supportive environment.

“We also have gift cards for the top performers, so there’s some incentive for performing,” said Cafaro.

Top performers in this talent show will be awarded gift cards from the student council, thus motivating students and encouraging them to be open to showing the school their unique talents and skills.

“The most fun part of the Talent Show is watching everyone perform their talents and seeing how supportive everyone is of each other,” said Student Council President Kyra Pattison.

The talent show will also highlight the ways students support each other at school. The student council’s talent show aims to ensure that all students participating are comfortable and excited to show off their talents to their peers.

“It’s not all about competition,” Cafaro said. “It is fun for people to get up on stage, and even fun for the students who don’t want to get up on stage. The good thing is just making positive memories for when you look back on high school.”

While this talent show will create a slightly competitive environment, this opportunity offers other benefits. Participating in this event allows students to create memorable moments to look back on in the future.

“Things like talent shows can help break you out of your comfort zone and try something new that could potentially become your career path,” said senior Zoe Thomas.

The OH Talent Show provides a platform to express creativity and take risks. Embracing this experience will open the door to self-discovery and make students feel a lot more confident about taking risks and putting themselves out there.

“I have grown so much as a performer and person. I don’t care about winning, the only thing I care about is doing this as a boost for myself and my confidence,” said sophomore Faith Smith.

The talent show will not only be a chance to make memories and showcase talent, but it will also offer an opportunity to help students feel more confident and comfortable.
