As students approach the final months of the school year, many students at OH are gearing up for a mixture of adventures, relaxation, and lots of fun for spring break.

“The weeks going into spring break are purely exciting,” said senior Dylan King. “You know you are getting the break that you need and right when you come back the weather starts to get better and you know that the end of the year is soon.”

Many OH students have things to look forward to going into the break. I think this vacation is the final push for students who need to decompress from schoolwork.

“I’m most excited to go to Mexico with my friends and family, and I’m looking forward to being able to relax and not have to worry about things like school or college planning,” said senior Isabella Petasnick.

While some students, including myself, are looking forward to a getaway, others have chosen ways to spend their break exploring educational opportunities.

“I am going to the Museum of Science and Industry with my family,” said senior Madeline Mundsinger. “It’s a fun way to continue my education even though we’re not actually going to be in school.”

I think spending time with friends and family are core parts of some students’ spring break whether it’s people you see all the time or don’t see as much.

“I am also planning on using this time to visit and see some of my family and relatives because it’s something I don’t typically have time to do,” said sophomore Aydan Dunne.

Some students at OH have a commitment to stay at home during the break to play their sports.

“I plan on playing high school baseball this break and I know that does not sound like the most exciting plan but It has been a sacrifice that I’ve been willing to pay to play the sport,” said King.

There is always a little bit of room during break for spring cleaning and many students, including myself, are working to get the job done.

“I always try to clean my room over break to hopefully go into the last stretch of the year with a little less clutter and stress in my life,” said Dunne, “it’s a great way to better myself and take full advantage of my spring break.”

I strongly agree with Dunne because although spring break is the best time to relax, getting back into the groove of school can be tricky. When asked about before and after the break, students had a variety of plans.

“It’s hard when it gets toward the end of the year, so to prepare for spring break I make sure all my schoolwork is done so I won’t have to worry about it while on the break,” said Petasnick.

Similarly to Petasnick, many students and I are prioritizing their work so they have less to worry about when they are on break and return back to school.

“Before spring break, it’s very high intensity with all the work, so I’m going to try and focus. So when I get back, it’s easy from there,” said Mundsinger.

As the next few weeks approach into spring break, many students are eager to finally be out of school.

No matter what their plans are, the break is going to be beneficial for everyone.
