OH’s BIONIC (Believe It Or Not I Care) Club spends much time making sure students at the school feel safe and connected. BIONIC spreads kindness and a sense of belonging all across OH, ensuring that all students never feel alone, and have many outlets of support.
One of those events held recently, on Wed., Nov. 13th, was International Kindness Day.
“BIONIC had a Kindness Bingo board for its members to fill out. [it was] filled with small actions like giving someone a high five to holding the door open. We want everyone to see how easy it is to be kind on any day of the week,” said senior board member, Gabriella Concepcion.
This reminded students at OH that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a big impact on spreading positivity in the Oswego Community.
“It’s an amazing group of people we have here on BIONIC and Kindness Day lets us share our passion for being kind,” said Concepcion.
One of the club’s many goals is taking any opportunity to spread kindness and to show students the impact that one kind gesture can have.
“For BIONIC students, Kindness Day reinforces their mission and shows them the real impact of their efforts. At school, it cultivates a culture of positivity, inspiring students to be more mindful and compassionate in their daily interactions.” Said OH Kinetic Wellness teacher and club sponsor Wendy Monn.
This meaningful day not only highlights the importance of kindness for Bionic but also motivates students to make a difference in someone else’s day by performing a small act of kindness.
“It is important to be kind to everyone because you never know what someone has going on behind the scenes. One kind word could change someone’s whole perspective,” said sophomore Helena Torres.
Kindness serves as a reminder that our words and actions carry weight, providing hope or comfort when it’s needed most.
“The best part about BIONIC’s Kindness Day is seeing students come together to support one another and witnessing how even small gestures can brighten someone’s day. The genuine smiles and moments of connection are unforgettable,” said Monn.
Kindness has the power to transform lives, based on small gestures. On Kindness Day, students embraced the opportunity to uplift others and spread hope and positivity.
