With Halloween right around the corner, haunted houses are starting back up in full swing. Massacre Haunted Houses are eager for new employees to help get the whole haunted house experience up and running. These new opportunities offer a lot of new job opportunities for OH students.
Massacre Haunted House, located in Montgomery, allows students to only work weekends and have their school days free for a convenient schedule of work and school. Massacre haunted houses allow job opportunities for students while also setting the spooky October mood with haunted houses.
“The week itself is normal because Massacre only opens on the weekends. Other than that, I arrive at the place and get the spot I’ll be for the night, then get my costume and makeup if necessary. Then I wait for the actor meeting to start, then we go to our spots,” said Massacre employee and OH senior Jovanni Jaimes.
One concern students could have is the workload with schoolwork and being overwhelmed with working late nights.. Working while having school could make it difficult for students to stay completely focused on academics and be distracted by work. However, many student Massacre employees only work the weekend, leaving the entire week free for school work and extracurriculars.
“I personally don’t think working at Massacre affects me homework-wise. Usually, any weekend homework I get is due Sunday night by 11:59 pm on the weekends. I do tend to procrastinate on homework, but I have plenty of time to do that homework before I go to work, or work on it when I get home if it’s not too late,” OH senior Brielli Zuardo said.
Similarly, Jaimes shared a similar opinion on how massacre could make it difficult to complete schoolwork.
“[Working at Massacre does not effect schoolwork] at all. Again, Massacre is only open on weekends and at night. It could affect your sleep schedule,” Jaimes said.
Massacre Haunted House creates fun job opportunities that many students find to be very fun and an easy job to do for the spooky October season.
“I am really excited to work their and sounds like a lot of fun,” said OH senior Lucas Snodgrass.
“I would definitely recommend working at Massacre if you are someone who can commit to working and can be able to act out whatever character you create out of the costume you get for a night,” Zuardo said.
So for those students looking to see what it’s like working at Massacre while being a student and those looking for a seasonal job, Massacre Haunted House can be a fun, spooky, and exciting way to earn money and embrace the Halloween mood.
“Some people find it fun and really exciting to work there,” said Jaimes.

Hi Spencer! I love the idea of a fall job that only requires weekend work. I am super scared of scary things, but my student Jacob Rowold worked at Massacre. Seeing him in his makeup helped make it seem less scary to me! (But I still don’t think I would go through there!)
