A new school year means a new football season is here. For OH students, it’s time to dream up creative outfits to show their panther pride, as determined by the Orange Crew game dress-up days.

“Dressing up for a school football game is very important because it shows how we students are supporting the school spirit,” said junior Khadija Jumaa.

If students need clarification about what to wear or where to purchase fit gear, there are plenty of spots to prep for upcoming games.

“I shop at Target, Party City, walmart, and Dollar Tree to purchase the accessories needed for each football game. All of these stores are very affordable for coming up with a quick outfit,” said senior Jaden Dutton. Helpfully, all of these stores are located 5-10 minutes away from OH.

“Some accessories to purchase that are useful for each theme are sunglasses, face/body paint, glowsticks, feather boas, beaded necklaces, bandanas, and body glitter,” said Jumaa.

All of these accessories can be useful for each football game based on what the theme color would be. One concern of students is the affordability of outfits, but many students have been able to find a fit on a budget.

“Usually, the average amount of money I spend is $20-25, so all of the accessories I bought I can reuse for my next three years of high school football games,” said Dutton.

Each football season the themes are repeated from every other year, so a one time purchase can be saved for the next year to save more money.

If you’re not sure what to buy, most outfits can be found through trending apps, such as Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, and Lemon8. These are all useful for finding different collections of great outfits to give you a picture of what you’re looking for.

Depending on the weather, some rain can ruin a good Friday football night. If you are struggling with planning out a plan B outfit, here are some tips on what you can change and do to prevent your outfit from getting ruined by the rain.

“A rainy day will take away the fun body paint, glitter, feathers, etc. A good old hoodie with some sweatpants and a basic hat will do well enough to keep you from getting rained on and keep you warm. For more accessories, throw on some glow sticks and beaded necklaces,” said Jumaa.

Students can also purchase a see-through raincoat and paint the inside, adding glitter, lights, and feathers so it won’t get washed off by the rain.

Football game nights are an amazing event to attend with friends and family to support the football team for the hard work and time they put in for a good score!

Students are encouraged to attend the next football game with a friend and get creative with outfits by taking a look at upcoming theme nights, sponsored by the Orange Crew.
