Take a chance on Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3

New "Call Of Duty" has all new visuals and movement to keep players in the fight.

It’s a new year, which means there’s a new “Call Of Duty” game. This year Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games rolled out “Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3.”

This is a title many have heard before because Infinity Ward has started to recreate past games and make them fit into the modern era. Some may find this lazy; however, it has proven very profitable, and although less successful than the originals, has had success.

Now, with the “Modern Warfare 3” remake out and thoroughly played through, here is the verdict: “Modern Warfare 3” is a very average game. It’s not bad, but it’s also not something to write home about.

Many players have their takes as well, senior Ben Pavlick included. “It’s a very nice and refreshing feel to the game that I dabbled with in the past,” said Pavlick.

However, senior Noah Mottet said, “The new ‘Call Of Duty’ game isn’t really that good. It’s like rushed or something, [average] at best,” said Mottet.

I believe the game feels like a tweaked version of the previous title. The only major differences are maps, weapon play, and movement. In short, nothing groundbreaking.

Okay, there are new maps. And having different maps is always a good thing as it changes the pace, but what makes these maps different is that they are all old maps from the previous 2011 game. Infinity Ward has remastered almost every map from “Modern Warfare 3” (2011), giving older players almost a sense of originality.

Looking into weapon play is where major changes were made. Weapons take way longer to get an elimination. This is because the player is given more health which increases the time to get an elimination.

This is a change that is highly debated by the community but at the end of the day isn’t make or break. I believe that this change is needed and a new change of pace, but will be a surprise to players coming fresh off of the previous game, “Modern Warfare 2” (2022).

Movement is always debated in the community. The movement in “Call Of Duty” is a huge factor in gameplay and that was done perfectly this year.

Players can run around the map and go back to slide canceling, a feature that was missed from the previous title. It is a game-changing feature that moves the game along faster and works hand in hand with increased health.

Another key component is graphics in “Modern Warfare 3,” which do not disappoint. When it comes to graphics, “Modern Warfare” pushed the limits of the new-age consoles.

Overall, as a player myself, I always appreciate a new “Call Of Duty” game as they always have something a little new to bring to the table. In the case of “Modern Warfare 3,” I believe that this title does have something new to offer to the player and should be given a chance.
