[TRAD.] Cementando su Position: OH estudiantes Protestan contra Officiales de immigracion con una huelga

El viernes, feb. 6, los que estuvieron observando vieron alrededor de 700 OH estudiantes quienes dejaron el edificio de la escuela después del periodo cinco y se juntaron afuera del estadio de Ken Pickerill. Finding purpose: Groundhog’s Day celebrated as distinguished, yet odd, tradition
One of the most oddly interesting traditional observances, Groundhog's Day, was celebrated this month on Feb. 2. Did you miss it? It may be difficult to imagine that this small observance began in medieval Germany in the late 16th century and still persists today, yet it does - with some changes. Instead of a groundhog, our medieval counterparts celebrated the badger. Nevertheless, when German immigrants moved to the U.S., they kept their weather tradition alive by substituting the scarce badger for the widely available groundhog. “I first heard about Groundhog Day [[in school,]]” said OH junior Christian Zalvidar. “They teach us about it in elementary [[school]],” he recalled.

OH implemento reglas nueva de gymnasio que reducen el tiempo que tienen estudiantes para cambiarse de cinco minutos a quatro minutos y movio articulos para alquilar dentro de cuarto para cambiarse. Este cambio, hecho por el departamento de bien-estar kinetica, quiere mejorar efficiencia, reducir la tardansa, y limitar obstruciones de traffico en los pasillos durante los periodos de education physica. Los reglas actualizadad applican a todos los estudiantes que estan tomando OH clases de education physica y cambian como estudiantes se preparan para clase antes que las actividades empiezen. Los lideres de la escuela dicen que los cambios estan diseanidos para aumentar tiempo para instruir y mejorar las transitions durante los periodos de classe.
Heading into the final 100 days: OH students prepare for graduation
OH is already halfway through its '25-26 school year, and students are looking forward to ending the year strong. Seniors and early graduates are especially looking forward to graduating and moving on to the next chapter of their lives. “I graduate in May this year,” said OH senior Victor Sanchez, “[[and]] I’m pretty excited to move on.” As good as these celebrations sound, there are some final hurdles seniors have to overcome to receive their diplomas and a handshake. There are some graduation requirements that are not course-based. “[[One]] of the graduation requirements [[that]] students need to complete [[is]] a FAFSA form," said OH counselor David Mattes. "[[Students]] can either complete the FAFSA or [[they]] can opt out.”

It isn’t surprising that Oswego’s economy is attracting new businesses, as new stores are popping up all around town, and one of the newest is Crumbl. The delicacy cookie store opened in the heart of Oswego on Douglas Road this fall. The location is dedicated to selling premium baked goods, focusing on quality over quantity. OH senior Topazio Ochoa said she was excited to work at Crumbl as it was introduced in the Oswgeo community. “For sure, [[I want to work there]] because of hype. Honestly, social media has been giving [[it]] a lot of attention. But it's excitement from the hype that’s [[what really makes this bakery special]].”
