My name is Raelyn Alvarez, and I am a Senior at OHS. This is my third year doing Digital Journalism, and I am beyond grateful to have been voted Editor-In-Chief for my last year.

Opinion: The 2023 Golden Globes did not hit its punchline

We all know the renowned annual award ceremony that is the Golden Globes. It brings iconic fashion, suspenseful announcements, and meaningless yet viral drama. Not only did the 2023 Golden Globes have drama, but it also had questionable award winners and the worst “comedic” speeches.

Proposed sidewalk near Memorial Lane may be implemented for student safety

While the issue of gravel lot conditions at OH has persisted for over six years, and student complaints have been issued to the administration about walking conditions, the concerns have received little to no formal response - until this past October.  On Oct. 12, 2023, OH senior Raelyn Alvarez, Principal Christopher Grays, OH teacher Wendy Monn, SD308 Operations Director William Queen, and other OH staff members addressed the long-term safety issue of the gravel lot in a proposal to the SD308 School Board of Education. The proposal for a safe walkway from the gravel lot to the main campus was approved by the school to build the sidewalk for the safety of OH students and in memory of students who have passed away.

For those who celebrate it, the holiday months should be filled with jolly spirit and Christmas activities. We have ideas to bring up that Christmas spirit and have fun things to do this holiday season! 

Oswego High School goes digital with PSAT/SAT

On Oct. 17 and 18, juniors and underclassmen students at Oswego High School took the digital version of the PSAT after a digital readiness check on Oct. 3. Considering OH has never done the PSAT/SAT digitally before, the OH testing administrators used readiness checks to help students transition into digital standardized testing.
