Breaking barriers: OH Cheer achieves best State finish yet

Double trouble: Two OH gymnasts flipping records

OH gymnasts Sam Phillip and Ava Sullivan have been turning heads and bringing in crowds since they were freshmen on the OH variety team. As seniors, they are savoring their final season.  “This senior season is truly flying,” Sullivan said. “Lots of big emotions, obviously, but it's going as great as I could ask for. Honestly, things are starting to get intense, but I'm having a blast this one last time.” Both athletes hold school records: Phillip is tied for the school record on floor with a score of 9.6 and holds the vault record with a score of 9.8. Sullivan is also tied for the school record on floor with a score of 9.6.

El miércoles 13 de noviembre, quince estudiantes-atletas de OH se comprometieron oficialmente a practicar atletismo al siguiente nivel. A través de un arduo trabajo, todos los estudiantes-atletas firmaron para los próximos cuatro años de atletismo universitario. Esa tarde los atletas estuvieron acompañados por sus familiares y amigos para celebrar el logro. Junior Greyson Covay is the newest commit here at OH to Division I collegiate athletics. He has committed to play at the University of Southern California (USC). His journey to this point has been shaped by determination and hard work.  The recruiting process is an important and drastic part of becoming committed, Covay began his recruiting process early on. “When I was 15 I started researching and emailing colleges, I emailed them almost every month,” he said. “When they were finally able to reach out to me June 15, it was very easy to get in contact with them,” said Covay.

Many OH athletes commit during National Signing Day

On Wed., Nov. 13, 15 OH student-athletes officially committed to play athletics at the next level. Through hard work, all of the student-athletes signed to the next four years of collegiate athletics. Athletes were joined by their families and friends that afternoon to celebrate the accomplishment. These 15 OH athletes are from many different sports, including basketball, golf, soccer, volleyball, baseball, softball, and even one of the district's newest sports: lacrosse.
