“I Win”: Hoosiers secure first CFP Championship in school history
This week, the Indiana Hoosiers, led by Coach Curt Cignetti and Heisman winner Fernado Mendoza, completed the fairy tale turnaround in only the second year of the 12-team college football playoffs. The Hoosiers beat the Miami Hurricanes 27-21 in the CFP Championship Game on Jan. 20 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. “I truthfully didn't expect things to go the way they did," said OH senior Logan Nieves. "I don't think anybody thought it would’ve been Miami playing Indiana.” Both teams have had quite a story leading into the Championship game. The Indiana Hoosiers went 3-9 in the '23-24 season and finished last in the Big Ten Conference standings.

‘Son Of Spergy’: A new era for Caesar and fans
“Pilgrims Paradise,” “Freudian,” “CASE STUDY 01,” “NEVER ENOUGH,” and now “Son of Spergy:” Daniel Ceaser released a new album after two years, leaving fans in shock with its beautiful sound and chords. The album, released this fall, was highly anticipated throughout the announcement. “I was super pumped that he was actually releasing again,” said OH junior Jordyn Becker. “It’s been quite a minute since he’s released.” Though Ceaser had shown no indication of releasing an album after his 2023 hit “NEVER ENOUGH,” he was still active in the music community, helping produce the late 2024 hit “CHROMAKOPIA” by Tyler The Creator and frequent interviews with the artist.
Wrestling the challenges of a new season: Boys’ wrestling starts up
As fall sports wind down and winter falls, boys' wrestling is now starting up its season. Open mats and after-school practices have been letting the boys get back in shape, but the real deal is now here. The team's first match took place on Nov. 26 at Wheaton Warrenville South. Their second match on Nov. 29 was cancelled due to the snowstorm that took place that weekend. But despite this rocky start, the boys are still determined and excited for the season, hoping their hard work pays off. “To prepare myself for the season, I took a lot of time to lift, and I watched a lot of film,” said OH senior and varsity wrestler Logan Nieves. “I am happy to say that I am very excited for the upcoming season.”
Keller’s Farmstand: Fall fun and community connection in Oswego
Kellers Farmstand in Oswego offers many fall festivities for OH students and Oswego residents. The farm stand is a staple among Oswego residents, and many beloved activities are open again for fall. “I see OH students and their families visiting the farm pretty often because there are a lot of people from Oswego who work here,” said OH senior and Keller’s employee Rebecca Dutton. “It’s very family-friendly, [[and]] there’s something for everyone—apples, apple cider donuts, a big play area, pumpkins, and a corn maze,” Dutton added. For Dutton, the best part of working at Keller’s is watching those simple moments of joy unfold.
