A new face has joined the OH Panther family: meet new dean, Spencer Brown, who is already feeling the family nature of OH. "Y’know, I just wanna say that everybody has been so genuinely nice, as I’ve gotten to know people," Brown said. "I’ve never been in a space where so many kids say ‘Good morning’ back when I say ‘Good morning,’ or so many adults are eager to say ‘Hello’ as well. It’s just been so welcoming, and it’s just made me feel like I belong. So I’m just very thankful to everybody," he added.  The OH Deans team is happy to welcome Brown, too. “He comes to us with a wealth of knowledge from previous experiences,” said OH Dean Ryan Kabara, expressing his excitement that Brown has joined the four other deans at OH after Lynn Wingard resigned at the end of the '24-25 academic year.

Students, staff, and community members kicked off the school year with spirit this past Fri., Aug. 22nd, with the annual PantherFest celebration.  This display of talents across the board, whether it be band, color guard, sports, or clubs, shared with the school community the many opportunities OH offers. As a back-to-school event, it was also a way for new and old friends to reconnect at the start of the year. “It’s a way people start connecting outside school," said OH senior Logan Neives. "You’re not just solely talking to your friends during the school day, or just finding time outside of class to talk to them, so I think it’s great.”

Five OH culinary students, led by culinary teacher Thomas Dwyer, showed off their talents at the Prostart competition on March 2, 2024, and won third place at the event. “[[The]] competition helps high school students get their foot in the door when it comes to scholarships to culinary schools,” explained OH senior Phoenix Goldstein. “One section has teams cooking an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert; the other is teams pitching a restaurant concept in the fictional city of ProStartville to show their knowledge of what it takes to get a restaurant running.”
