OPV kickstarts the year with motivation through annual car wash fundraiser
Yet again, the annual OH girls volleyball (OPV) fundraiser does more than raise money: it raises motivation for the entire community. This past Saturday, the team hosted a successful car wash to kick start the season and help fund their camps and equipment. “[[The carwash]] brings us together at the beginning of the season,” said OH Girls Varsity Volleyball Coach and Special Education teacher Gary Mosley. “We know it's going to be a tough day, but it's also a very, very positive day. So it's something we look forward to every year.” Despite the fact that it is an annual event, it is still one the team looks forward to as it brings connections to the community.

42 Fifty presenta ‘The Muse,’ la primera revista literaria de OH
Hoy, 42fifty publicó el primer número de su nueva revista literaria, The Muse, resaltando los trabajos artísticos y las escrituras creativas de los estudiantes de OH. En nuestro mundo de atención corta, entretenimiento de fuego rápido y la inundación de contenido de IA, es más importante que nunca que los estudiantes de preparatoria desaceleren y aprecien la creatividad de sus compañeros. “Yo pienso que con las bellas artes, te invita a venir y…desalerar las cosas y pensar…y me acuerdo que mi maestra de arte en el colegio me dijo que distribuidor promedio en el museo de arte ve los trabajos por solamente 3 segundos. Entonces, digo, se trata mucho de la capacidad de atencion, y entonces nuestra tiene una manera de ser meditativa y tomar un momento para disfrutar cuanto trabajo duro fue puesto,” Michael Skura, director del Departamento de Bellas Artes de OH, dijo.
More than just coffee and donuts: OH program Cup Of Happiness delivers joy
What better way than to start the morning off with coffee and donuts? Well, OH staff would say the better way is to have those items delivered by some of OH’s most kind-hearted students. Many of the students in OH's special education program deliver coffee and donuts to teachers every Tuesday and Friday during first period and bring joy to the school day, and it has brought benefits to the students, too. “It’s fun because I get to do jobs,” said OH senior Evan Bates, a student who participates in the Cup of Happiness program.
