On Feb. 24, 2024, the OH Black Student Association (BSA) hosted its Black Tie Ball for a second year in the OH auxiliary gym, encouraging students to grab their suits and heels.
On Feb. 5, 2024, students who had taken Honors English 1 in middle school received an informative email telling them that although they had taken the class, some colleges may not view the course as "potable," meaning an accepted credit when considering their applicants.  “The email is just to bring awareness to [[the]] varying entrance requirements of selective colleges and universities. Colleges and universities that are more selective may have a more specific requirement in terms of English classes,” said OH Student Services Director Patti Marcinko.  While this email does not mean all universities are similar, it left students nervous about their college of choice and whether they would have to figure out how to obtain the missing credit.
After a few weeks of preparation, members of the Boulder Hill Elementary School Diversity Club presented in front of the board of the Oswego Public Library District (OPLD) on Jan. 24. Passionate about the controversial topic of book banning in schools, they advocated to protect the beloved books in their school community. “[[The kids]] each ended up choosing a book that they've either read about or were interested in and did their focus on that specific book. They talked about why they love the book, what they liked about it, and created like a little slideshow,” said Elizabeth Medina, a fourth-grade teacher at Boulder Hill Elementary and one of the two teachers who run the Diversity Club.
In addition to participation in OH Honor Societies and earning a strong GPA, volunteering throughout high school is another way that OH students can earn a cord to wear proudly at graduation.
On Sunday, Feb. 18, 2023, the OH band program will host its tenth annual Bandcake performance from 8–11 a.m. in the OH cafeteria.  “I’m somewhat excited for this performance. This is my first year participating. I’m in a pep band this year and doing a song with three other people,” said junior Nate Giffin.
