Although this is an absolute brilliant album, there are several filler tracks that bring it down from being perfect. They hold amazing ideas within them, however, they go on for too long or leave me bored.
This week, deciding what songs to review was a challenge, because a wide variety of artists gifted their fans with some great new music. However, there were three new tracks that definitely stood out to me. I won’t keep you waiting, so let’s jump right to it.
In “To the Bone,” The Kinks perfectly describe the excitement of buying vinyl records: “in the back of a record rack, there’s an old double pack. 12 inches and black with an old crumpled cover. But every record is stacked.” That same experience is exactly what I feel when walking into a little record shop on the corner of First and S. Water Street in Batavia, Illinois.
Over each weekend, I will be giving a listen or two to the top three most popular songs (determined by iTunes and Spotify chart performance and ratings) released from that Friday/anything from that same week. By Monday or Tuesday of each week, you can expect a full review on the top three releases and whether to “play or nay” them.
Jingle Bash, Jingle Bash, Jingle all the…wait. Yup, it’s that time of the year once again. The 2018 B96 Pepsi Jingle Bash is back, and it’s only a few months away.
