Kendall County is averaging 216 new COVID-19 cases every single day. With COVID-19 on the rise yet again, everyone needs a way to have fun while staying safe.

Everyone has hobbies, but sometimes you need a new one to keep things fresh in the COVID era.

Video games are a great way to keep you stimulated at home. Whether it’s a game on your phone or on a console, all video games help with hand-eye coordination and keeping you entertained. There are plenty of games out there right now that everyone can enjoy. From Call of Duty to Minecraft, there is a huge variety.

Puzzles

Video Games

No matter how frustrating puzzles are, they are a great way to lose track of time during quarantine. Finding a good puzzle to do with your siblings or parents is a great way to have fun while incorporating the whole family. Puzzles are the one indoor activity that has stood the test of time. Having been around for hundreds of years, they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. With all the time spent at home, now is the perfect opportunity to pick one up and get started.

TV

With all the streaming platforms out there, it is becoming easier than ever to find a show or movie to binge all day long. With new content constantly being released across every genre, everyone has a show to love. From the Flash to Spongebob, you’re sure to find a great show.

Knitting

Despite the grandmother stereotype, knitting is a really great way to relieve stress, which is truly a necessity during these times. Whether you’re just getting started or you’re a professional, there is always something fun to knit.

Cooking

Cooking is a great and tasty way to entertain yourself and learn useful life skills at the same time. Not to mention, the reward of enjoying your freshly made meal afterwards. From making grilled cheese to cooking a five course meal, you are bound to find a dish you love.  And these skills are going to help you later in life as well, so that way, you’re able to cook yourself a nice meal once you’ve moved out.

While there are plenty of fun things to do in the COVID era, many of them are not safe to partake in. Instead of exposing yourself or others, have fun finding new hobbies and interests. Remember to have fun and be safe!
