Listen up Panthers because it is that time of the year once again, the school year is approaching its end! Whether you believe it or not, we have already made it to April, and time is running out to get your grades up to where you want them to be. Whether you are at a low C or even a high A, there is always room for improvement. Speaking of, if you have the motivation and want to improve but don’t know how, let me share some tips with you.

First off, missing assignments are a HUGE thing when it comes to getting the grade you want in a class. Check your home access account online to see if you have any missing assignments and if you do, contact your teachers immediately. Chances are, they have it graded but misplaced it before they had the chance to enter it into eSchool, so ask them politely to double check, but make sure to double check on your end too that you did not misplace it. Now, if you know that you did not complete or turn in assignment, talk to your teacher and ask them if they will accept it for partial credit. Remember, a 50% is better than a 0 in the gradebook. If all looks good, then keep it up!

Next up, take advantage of any extra credit that you are given or offered, even a small five point assignment could boost your grade a bit! Even if you have an A in the class, as stated earlier, there is always room for improvement.

In addition, do not start slacking just because the end of the year is approaching; do not get lazy and do not turn in half-effort assignments. Students tend to get the “oh the year is almost over, why try as hard?” attitude once they near the end. Stay away from that attitude and make sure to maintain the same energy and effort that you have (hopefully) put in all year long. Do not give up, finish out strong!

Finally, make sure you are prepared for finals in May. Most teachers take the study guide for the final for points, so get it done and earn some easy points. When it comes to studying, prioritize the classes that you struggle with the most first, then worry about your easier classes. Finals can either make or break a students grade, so be sure to give them your all.

Well, there you have it! No need to stress anymore, keep these tips in the back of your mind and you will be just fine. Hang in there Panthers, we are almost there!
